AMERICAN INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY
TRUCK
DRIVER TRAINING PROGRAMS
AIT's trucking schools not only
put you face to face with
qualified instructors in the
classroom, but more importantly,
on the road with instructors
with proven experience. Our
instructors not only know the
rules of the road and what it
takes to pass the CDL test, but
the ins and outs of the trucking
industry. When it comes to
operating a fully loaded 80,000
pound vehicle, you aren't going
to learn it in the classroom!
AIT trucking schools offers
professional driver training,
ensuring that students of all
levels and abilities can improve
their skills. After you've
passed our commercial drivers
training courses, AIT also
assists with entry-level jobs
and externships, so you can get
out of the classroom and onto
the road.
IN THE CLASSROOM
AIT's
CDL schools teach current
Department of Transportation
Regulations, which makes you a
asset to any employer looking to
find a responsible driver, who's
compliant with all D.O.T.
regulations. You'll also learn
pre-trip inspections, from
professionals whose real-life
experiences go far beyond what
you'll find in a textbook.
You'll become skilled on the ins
and outs of trip planning from
trained instructors who have
encountered many possible
combinations of weather, traffic
and vehicle breakdowns. You'll
also learn about weigh stations
and how to deal with your future
carrier's clients. At AIT you'll
start developing the skills to
bring your load in on time,
every time. On-the-road
management is also a very
valuable skill that will make
your career on the road as
stress free as possible. You'll
also learn financial management,
especially as it pertains to
driving cross country.
BEHIND THE WHEEL
AIT truck driver training puts
you on the road where you will
receive expert training on
how to deal with real-life
situations. You'll learn how to
maneuver through back roads,
frontage roads and how to safely
change lanes in traffic. You'll
also learn how to drive safely
and efficiently through a wide
range of situations whether
you're on the highway, a busy
city street, driving up a large
hill in a mountainous region or
maneuvering on city streets. AIT
CDL schools also provide the
professional training you'll
need when you transport goods
from one party to another.
You'll learn the different
driving techniques to best
utilize when your truck is
loaded or unloaded, how to drop
off your prized cargo in an
alley dock, various techniques
for backing up a massive truck
and the driving skills
necessary to maneuver your
vehicle through tight passage
ways.
