FINANCING YOUR FUTURE

AIT's trucking schools financial aid programs can provide qualified students looking to obtain a Class A license and a career in trucking various options to help defray the cost of training or acquire the appropriate loans to help cover the cost of training. To assist truck driver school trainees with their cost of education, AIT is approved by the U.S. Department of Education to participate in Student Financial Assistance Programs. You've made a great first step towards getting CDL truck training at AIT, by applying for one or more of the following financial aid options you'll be one step further down the road to success!

Searching for a qualified semi truck school is where many students begin their start on the road to any truck driver training school education. Many times people searching for a class A truck school are also looking for a free truck driving school, there is no such thing but those that have found this page, will see that there are many financial aid options available for an American Institute of Techology truck training school trainee.

FEDERAL PELL GRANT PROGRAM (FPELL)

The Federal Pell Grant Program provides non-repayable grants to eligible undergraduate truck school trainees who demonstrate financial need. The Federal Pell Grant Program provides need-based grants to low-income undergraduate and certain post-baccalaureate students to promote access to postsecondary education.

Financial need is determined by the U.S. Department of Education using a standard formula, established by Congress, to evaluate the financial information reported on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and to determine the family EFC. For more information on FAFSA, see below.

ALTERNATIVE LOAN PROGRAMS

Trainees who have limited or no funding available to them through Federal and State programs may apply for alternative loan funds to cover education-related expenses. For more information, trainees and prospective trainees can contact AIT's Financial Aid Office.

AIT INSTITUTIONAL LOAN PROGRAM

Trainees who have limited or no funding available to them through the Federal, State or alternative loan programs may apply for an institutional loan.

 

LEVERAGING EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANCE PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM (LEAP)

Under the LEAP program, the Secretary of Education provides states with funds to establish a state grant program to assist trainees who demonstrate substantial financial need. Trainees must meet state eligibility criteria to receive assistance or benefits from this program.

OTHER AID

The Financial Aid Office at AIT also provides trainees and prospective trainees with information regarding other aid that students may be for eligible through the Bureau of Indian Affairs and the Workforce Investment Act.

 

FEDERAL FAMILY EDUCATION LOAN PROGRAM (FFEL)

The Federal Family Education Loan Program makes low interest, long-term loans available to eligible students attending institutions of higher education. The following types of loans are available through the FFEL programs:

FFEL Stafford Loans are awarded to trainees who demonstrate financial need. Because the U.S. Department of Education subsidizes the interest, borrowers are not charged interest while they are enrolled in training at least halftime and during grace and deferment periods

FFEL Unsubsidized Stafford Loans are awarded to trainees regardless of financial need. Borrowers are responsible for paying the interest that accrues during any period.

FFEL PLUS Loans allow parents to borrow on behalf of their dependent undergraduate children who are enrolled at least halftime. Borrowers are responsible for the interest that accrues on FFEL PLUS Loans during any period.
